I had a really disappointing experience at Benny’s. I ordered a slice, then immediately realized I needed to leave and asked for a refund before I had eaten or touched the food. I was only asking for about $5 back. The manager refused simply because the pizza had already been cooked and kept repeating that this was “food service,” without really explaining why an untouched order couldn’t be refunded. I work in food service myself, and I’m used to seeing reasonable service recovery when a guest hasn’t consumed the food. I understand businesses have policies, but the interaction felt unnecessarily rigid and dismissive over such a small amount. I like the pizza here, which honestly made the experience more disappointing. I won’t forget how poorly this was handled.

Honest review from a native New Yorker: this place totally hits the spot. Benny Damato’s keeps it simple in the best way possible. You get that huge, thin, crispy slice that actually folds without flopping everywhere, with a sauce and cheese ratio that just works. No weird gimmicks or over-the-top fluff—just really good, straightforward pizza done right. Easily a new favorite in Norfolk.

When I stumbled upon a pizza spot on a busy street, I didn’t expect to find the biggest slices I’ve ever seen with flavor to rival New York City pizza. But that is what I found in Norfolk. I highly recommend this spot. And even despite the busy Harborfest weekend, we didn’t have to wait terribly long for our slices. If you are in the downtown Norfolk area, check this place out!

Very small storefront, can easily get packed and very hot inside. Recommend ordering ahead unless you want to wait (especially on weekends/evenings). Reasonable prices, huge pizza slices only $6! I indulged on the “veggie” but it was only spinach & cheese lol

I was looking for a pizza joint to feed a crew of guys working an emergency job and found this place on Google. The reviews looked good but I called the number several times and no one answered. GPS said it was only five minutes away so I just drove there. It was a little hard to find parking because I drive a large truck but I found a spot about a block and half away. I walked in and was greeted by the staff. I attempted to order a whole pizza and it felt like they thought it was weird that I was ordering a whole pizza, then when I informed them I actually wanted three, they seemed a little taken a back, seemed a little concerned that they were going to have enough toppings. Which I thought was strange but it was 11pm on a Saturday. They told me 25 minutes so I headed back to my truck and after the time had passed I headed back in. This is when everything started to make sense!!!!! These pizzas are huge, almost to big to transport!!! I paid and began the walk to my truck still parked almost two blocks away carrying 3 gigantic pizzas. Im not going to lie but I was struggling a little with the sheer, weight and size of these behemoths. But thanks to onlookers cheering me on I was ab
